Bank of America Corporation (the Corporatio) has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 4, 2019 the Form 8K related to the following: the Corporation provided notice on July 29, 2019, to its joint venture partner of the termination of the merchant services joint venture at the conclusion of its current term. As a result, the Corporation has recognized a non-cash, pretax impairment charge of approximately $2.1 billion in the quarter ending September 30, 2019, presented in other general operating expense, which is estimated to reduce the Corporation’s Common equity tier 1 (CET1) ratio by 10 basis points. As disclosed in the Second Quarter Form 10-Q, this impairment charge will have no effect on the Corporation’s capital plan for the period beginning July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.
